Jez talks about being a comedian, what it takes, what it means and how you do it. My favourite quote of the episode is "Less experienced comics are, are, are really actively learning from older comedians, more experienced comedians, sometimes to their detriment. Like, a lot of people will have an instinct of like, "Oh, I want someone to tell me how to do this," right? And that ends up becoming this blind alley of growth because, a more experienced comedian can only teach you how to be a worse version of them, and then ultimately you actually have to find your own path. And there's all infinite variation in comedy, and then what works for you will be different than what works for someone else. And so almost everyone who starts is, like, begging, 'cause it hurts so much to bomb on stage, they are begging people who don't bomb or don't bomb as much, right?
