Interview with Alyssa, LSW

Today's interview is with my friend Alyssa. She is from New York and is a licensed social worker. She took the clinical route and currently works with adolescents providing individual counselling in a high school setting. She also have experience with the foster care population, substance abuse population and domestic violence population. Alyssa's expertise is in trauma and the mind-body connection. She believes that we all have the innate capacity to heal ourselves from chronic illness and other mysterious medical conditions. Just as trauma can wire our brains to being stuck in a perpetual state of fight or flight, creating physical and/or mental illness, healing from trauma can rewire our brains out of these conditions.
