Interview with Author Mel Clarkston

Big thanks to all my listeners today I was delighted be joined by another great author Mel Clarkston. Mel Clarkston is an album cover artist, former gallery owner, award-winning chalk artist ,childrens’ book author and left-handed Ukulele bassist and singer. She is a native of West Texas but has called San Diego, CA her home for almost a decade. She takes joy in de-mystifying the idea of art-the sanctity of practice,,and more practice...of showing up every day and being excited about creating something, whatever the media. Inspiration comes in the doing- as opposed to waking up in the middle of the night and being struck by some magical idea! Mel loves the challenge of creating something from nothing. She delights in introducing the audience to something “weird” and elevating it to a higher status.
