from Local Roots

Ezra Allen joined Dinah & Nat in the Local Roots studio to chat about his new single and upcoming tour. Ezra Allen is a neo-soul, jazz & alt hip-hop project focusing on lyricism and storytelling. 2018 saw success in the form of multiple plays on Triple J and community radio, as well as Allen’s 2018 E.P. ‘All For What’, featured on Bandcamp as ‘New & Notable’.  He’s just released a new track and announced an upcoming show and took time from rehearsal to stop by the Local Roots studio to chat about his music. Addressing issues of mental health, maturity and self-development, Ezra Allen has been defining himself as a lyricist. Surrounding himself with talented musicians and instrumentalists, he delves into new sounds to create eclectic tracks which compliment his storytelling. Ezra Allen returns with new single ‘Inhale, Exhale, Breathe’ an alt hip-hop track depicting the descent into chaos that companions an anxiety track. Produced by Nate Woodward – doubling as his drummer and responsible for most of his tracks past, present and future. ‘Inhale, Exhale, Breathe’, depicts the descent into chaos that companions an anxiety attack. Paraphrased and reworded from a short piece written by Allen in 2016, it describes one such attack occurring that year. Want to premiere a track? Get in touch with us!
