Giovanni Sollima ha un rapporto particolare con la musica di Vivaldi che è sempre  stata una delle fonti d’ispirazione della sua creazione musicale.Uno dei suoi ultimi progetti, realizzato in collaborazione con Federico Guglielmo e l’orchestra d’archi Il Pomo d’Oro, ruota attorno alla musica vivaldiana per evocare un paesaggio sonoro legato all’immaginario della storia della città con il crocevia di genti che l’hanno popolata.Il nome di questo progetto deriva da quello dato a Venezia dagli arabi, per sottolineare la sua alterità e il suo legame con il mare e con il Vicino Oriente, seguito dall’idea misteriosa del recupero di un concerto vivaldiano del quale è sopravvissuta solo la parte della viola, e che Sollima ha reinventato in modo originale.L’idea di Venezia rifratta dalle onde marittime si spinge in un gioco di specchi tra passato e presente e fra tradizione colta e tradizione orale in un dialogo tra violoncello, archi e continuo che guarda a Levante.La conversazione tra Giovanni  Sollima, Federico Guglielmo e Giulio D’Alessio, rispettivamente violoncello e violino solisti e viola, è stata registrata insieme ad alcuni esempi musicali durante la prova del concerto organizzato dalla Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti nell’Aula Magna della Sapienza di Roma nel mese di marzo.Nel loro dialogo i tre musicisti raccontano la nascita del progetto, descrivendo il carattere delle composizioni inserite nel suo programma.Paolo Scarnecchia
