Nei programmi del festival Laus Polyphoniae di Anversa c’è una presenza costante, si tratta del gruppo diretto da Paul Van Nevel, il quale predilige la Chiesa di San Paolo dove dispone il suo Huelgas Ensemble sempre al centro della navata, con il pubblico  seduto ai quattro lati attorno alla circonferenza formata dai cantori.  Dopo aver presentato un primo concerto dedicato al compositore Blasius Amon, anche nel secondo in programma nei giorni successivi, il direttore dello storico ensemble ha scelto di eseguire le musiche di due autori poco noti, Christophoro Martino e Girolamo Lambardi, mettendo in risalto i diversi procedimenti contrappuntistici utilizzati nel trattamento del cantus firmus.  L’ensemble ha eseguito anche musiche di Rore, Lusitano, e Layolle ma il programma ha messo in risalto i mottetti dei due compositori che forse sono stati eseguiti per la prima volta in tempi moderni. Mentre il nome di Martino non figura nei dizionari enciclopedici musicali, ma nelle note del programma si ipotizza che sia stato attivo come compositore e copista a Monaco, una delle poche informazioni relative a Rambaldi riguarda la sua appartenenza alla Congregazione dei canonici regolari nel monastero agostiniano di Santo Spirito in Isola nella laguna di Venezia, dove quasi certamente visse ininterrottamente a cavallo tra il XVI e il XVII secolo, ma conosciamo invece le diverse raccolte della sua musica sacra che sono state stampate nella sua città.  Sia l’intervista a Van Nevel che gli esempi musicali sono stati registrati durante le prove nel luogo del concerto.                                                                         Paolo Scarnecchia
