Trained Singer, Actor and Dancer. Played Nala in the Hong Kong Production of the Lion King. Plays the Venda Princes Anzani in Scandal on E.tv.Fulu Mugovhani plays the lead role in the highly anticipated film, Ayanda. Set in Yeoville, Johannesburg, it tells the coming-of-age story about a sassy, young female entrepreneur, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery as she has to fight to save her late father’s legacy – a motor repair shop - when it is threatened with closure. She’s thrown into a world of greasy overalls, gender stereotypes and abandoned vintage cars once loved, now in need of a young woman’s re-inventive touch.The TUT Musical Theatre student, whose credits also include Spring Awakening, Parade and Remix, filmed the Sara Blecher helmed production whilst also shooting on e.tv’s flagship soapie Scandal! as Anzani. The widowed Anzani’s tragic storyline involving her cruel kidnapping is on screen now!Ayanda was very well received at Cannes earlier this year, is currently showing at the LA Film Festival and will open the prestigious Durban International Film Festival in July.
