#InTheSpotlight Jabu Mabuza is the Chairman of Telkom SA SOC Limited

Jabulane (Jabu) Mabuza is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telkom SA SOC Limited. Jabu was appointed to the Board in November 2012. He is widely recognised as a successful entrepreneur. He retired from the position of Group Chief Executive of Tsogo Sun Holdings Ltd effective 30 September 2011, and currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of Tsogo Sun Holdings.Jabu has held a number of directorships within the Southern Sun and Tsogo Sun Groups. He has served on the Board of South African Tourism for nine years and as its Chairman, for the last six years, ending May 2012. Jabu is the current Chairman of the Casino Association of South Africa (CASA), President of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA). Jabu currently serves on Boards of other companies, including: Ampleray Investments (Pty) Ltd, BUSA NPC, Eglin Investments No. 44 (Pty) Ltd, Kuncedzana Investments Holdings, Lexshell 627 Investments (Pty) Ltd, Motema Investments (Pty) Ltd, Nexor Solar (Pty) Ltd, Petroport (N3) (Pty) Ltd, Shaft Sinkers Mining (Pty) Ltd, Supaswift (Pty) Ltd T/A Federal Express (FEDEX), Telkom SA SOC Ltd, The Sunshine PGA Tour (Section 21) and Wild Peech Trading (Pty) Ltd Outside of our South African boarders, he served on the boards of Tanzania Breweries Ltd (TBL), and Castle Brewing Company in Kenya. Jabu is currently serving on the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in Washington DC as a Board Member and on the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in England – UK as an Executive Committee Member. He was a B20 Delegate to the G20 in Saint Petersburg – Russia in September 2013. He also served on the Board of University of South Africa School of Business Leadership (SBL) and was Country Advisor to the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS). Jabu has presented several papers in Southern Africa, the United Kingdom, United States of America and Europe on Black Economic Empowerment Investment in South Africa, Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the Role of Business in Transition.
