From from being behind the scenes to shining on stages across SA, Kabomo Vilakazi is a jack of all trades who seems to have done it all.The singer, songwriter and actor has recently released his second album, Memory Remains, landed a role in the local soapie Zabalaza and has just been billed as one of the artists to perform at this year's Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz festival."I've always been working behind the scenes. Fifteen years ago I started out as Thembi Seete's roadie and then moved on to manage Flabba and was editor of Y-Mag," he says.Kabomo has had the pleasure of sharing stages with international artists from John Legend, Bilal, Lizz Wright, Eric Roberson, Louie Vega, Gerald Albright and Phonte with whom he just recorded a song.The four-time SA Music Awards nominee recently performed his popular hit, Plenty Babies, featuring Afrotraction, Brian Temba and The Soil at the Samas.Memory Remains boasts two albums in one. Disc one is a soul album with songs such as Tricky Things featuring Judith Sephuma and production from GB Collective, while disc two is a hip-hop album with production by DJ Kenzhero. He features HHP, Zakwe, Tuks and Moneoa.
