Introduction to "My Secret Life With An Eating Disorder" - with Maureen Kritzer-Lange MSW, LCSW
from My Secret Life With An Eating Disorder · host Maureen Kritzer-Lange MSW, LCSW
I'm Maureen Kritzer-Lange (The Queen of Self Esteem and creator of the Don't Trust the Mirror Movement). Welcome to my podcast. I hope that you find real value in the stories that I share. I've been a Psychoanalyst in private practice for over twenty five years, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Over forty years ago I developed an eating disorder. It took over my life and controlled me for many years. I knew I needed help but I didn't know where to turn, I struggled feeling very alone, and there were times things were so bad I thought someone would find me dead on the bathroom floor. I began to journal and that became my closest friend. This podcast which is part of my Don't Trust The Mirror Movement is to bring light to a devastating disorder that affects so many people today. This is my personal story. I lived it, I breathed it and now I am here to talk about it. My life mission is to help women be all that they can be – by improving their self esteem, helping them find their voice and finding freedom from shame, guilt and negativity. “I change women’s lives by empowering them to trust THEMSELVES not the mirror and become their own Queen of Self Esteem." - Maureen Kritzer-Lange (The Queen of Self Esteem and creator of the Don't Trust the Mirror Movement) This podcast represents the opinions of Maureen Kritzer-Lange and her guests to the show and website.
