Iran: The New Face of Feminism

from Living Wellness Muse Podcast · host Leanne Elliott

On today’s episode, I’m joined by Mahnaz Meamar and her daughter first generation Iranian-American Golzar Meamar Barrera to talk about where Iran has been and where it’s headed under this new energy around women’s rights in the Middle East. This episode is a departure from our normal formatting but I wanted to discuss this pivotal moment in history, and how we can help liberate women who are suffering from oppressive regimes. If you want to make a difference. If you want to stand for something that can change the lives of millions of women, then please call or write your congressional leaders. Send a letter today and see how good it feels to move mountains for others. In the U.S. send letters to your district's House Representative and your state's two U.S. Senators. Find yours at https://www.house.gov/htbin/findrepSample Letter: Dear __________________,I'm writing to you regarding the humanitarian crisis in Iran, specifically the women fighting for their rights of expression in religion and dress. As you know, people are dying. Ten of thousands have been arrested and detained without due process. The regime is doing everything it can to maintain power, and this crisis is real and unfolding as you read this letter. While we don't have much individual power to dismantle the regime from here, we do have incredible influence as a country, and a unified voice with the women and the oppressed of Iran. I write you today to ask that you encourage and rally your fellow representatives (or senators) to stand in unison with the women's movement in Iran. With your voice and our unified  support, we can make the regime look weak, out of control and unable to manage the tidal wave of movement underway in their country. We need to be a part of this movement. We need to lend our voices to their cause. In this way we erode their regime and bring power to the powerless. Please move today to stand up for women's right in Iran and across the Middle East. Together we can end this regime in our lifetime. Sincerely,Your NameState of Residence✨ Join the Private Podcast Club – A monthly magazine subscription and private podcast inspiration.  💫 Work with Leanne – Intuitive sessions, energy healing, and guidance for midlife reinvention📲 Follow @livingwellnessmuse on Instagram & Facebook💼 LinkedIn: Leanne Cooper Elliott🎙️ New episodes drop twice a month on Thursday
