Is a World Record More Valuable than an Olympic Medal?

World Record vs Olympic Gold. A debate that has gone on forever between athletes and fans on which is more valuable. In a recent poll, between 100m legends Donovan Bailey, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell, the majority of people selected Asafa Powell as the the person who has a greater 100m career, while Donovan Bailey was selected the least. This was interesting considering Powell, though had set the world record, had never won an Olympic medal. While on the flipside, Bailey had both set the World Record and won Olympic Gold.
