Is Cycling Recommended for Those with Knee Osteoarthritis? What you NEED to know with Dr. Alyssa Kuhn, PT

from Adventuring with Osteoarthritis · host Dr. Alyssa Kuhn, PT

Surprisingly enough, cycling may not be as effective as you think. But when you look at the reasoning, it begins to make sense...I recently came across a research article titled: "Stationary cycling exercise for knee osteoarthritis: A systematic review and meta-analysis" that looked into if cycling is effective at reducing certain symptoms for those with knee osteoarthritis. It turns out, it can be helpful for pain but not so much for long term stiffness and mobility. In this episode I'll share the findings of the research as well as a strategy you can use to help fill in the gaps in terms of balance, range of motion and full body strength. Follow me on social media: > My website> Follow me on Instagram> Subscribe to my YouTube channelThis episode is for general informational purposes only.
