The past no longer exists anywhere but in our mind. It has come and gone. In fact, what exists in our mind isn't the past but our story about the past, our thinking about the past.

When we look back at past events, we have a choice on how we want to think about them. And as our thinking always happens in the present, our thinking about our past inevitably affects who we are and how we behave in the present.

So although the past has come and gone, it has shaped and still shapes who we are today. 

Note: If you have suffered from past trauma or suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I recommend that you skip this episode to avoid any triggers.
