Íslandsferð C.W. Shepherd 1862

Árið 1862 kom Bretinn Charles William Shepherd til Íslands í annað sinn. Hann hafði komið einu ári fyrr ásamt Holland til að kynna sér ýmislegt varðandi íslenska náttúru. Shepherd kom til landsins í seinna skiptið til þess að kanna Vestfirði og Vesturland og rannsaka íslenska fugla, eins og hann segir í bókinni The North-West Peninsula of Iceland. Steindór Steindórsson frá Hlöðum þýddi bókina og kom hún út undir nafninu Íslandsferð 1862. Umsjón: Illugi Jökulsson.
