It Takes a Village

We have all been there- either as parents or as bystanders- the "public meltdown"... (enter horror movie music)... Especially if you come from a trauma background yourself, you are fighting a double battle when your kid flips out in front of others. We hear "it takes a Village"- what "Village"??  Cycle-breaking can feel like you are up against everyone else in the room the thing is happening in (including our own conditioned thoughts). An amazing thing happened this weekend that showed me we maybe don't need the "Village" as we might picture it... And what absolutely did make a HUGE difference.
