It's all about the Brain !

from A Manual for a Contemporary Body Hosted by Ivana Daniell

In this episode, we will talk about science! in particular neuroscience Our brain controls how we move via neurochemical signals sent to our muscles. The efficiency of that signal depends on many factors, but one of them is for sure PRACTICE. For example, if a pianist doesn’t practice the piano diligently, his/her skill will deteriorate. Same is for the BODY ... after all, practice makes it perfect. By training diligently and thoughtfully, a new pattern can be reprogrammed into the brain and therefore create healthy new movement patterns. I know, it might sound a bit too complicated, but no worries! Our very special guest today is a very talented, young scientist, she will talk about Brain science. Her name is Julia Bornemann, Neuroscientist, PhD candidate at the centre of Psychedelic Research at Imperial College in London
