This is the last episode of the second season for the waterfowl podcast. There's no background 🎶 music over virtual webinars, or listening to me chase 🐦 birds while reading 📚 books Tomorrow is general voting day, 🗳 the municipal elections in BC are decided October 15. If I have had a successful first term, in becoming acclaimed or elected to provincial or area associations, it because I try to lean in and strain to listen to residents in my village. And then I do my darndest to echo what I hear. Although being the deputy mayor of Tahsis is a part time position, I believe in the saying "you get what you give." From starting aquafit water dance with sarah after my eldest child was born, becoming a Lifeguard again after the youngest or being a server in the pancake breakfast in the A frame church before it burned down. From the community garden to the literacy society i have been growning and showing. Learning and doing. I have recieved a lot of meaning over the years, from coming to this community a treeplanter, to becoming a parent while living the remote dream. I have made good friends and built relationships with neighbours, over the last 12 years of being a resident of Nootka Sound. I learned today that the average rainfall in our community is 4300mm or 4.3 meters a year. We can get a touch soggy at ⏲ times. Especially with the pandemic isolation, work from home & home work I need to promote my joy. This day is for 🕺 dancing and growing. For caring and showing up.
