IWP Market Update - June 2026
from Freedonomix
Global growth holds, house prices don't — the July market update Nvidia alone is worth more than twice the entire ASX combined. Melbourne house prices just posted their worst quarterly fall in years. And Australia is on track for its weakest decade of living standards growth since the 1910s. Cam and Chris break down what's actually happening in the economy this month — global growth staying resilient (with Asia doing the heavy lifting), Aussie inflation easing back toward target, and why the May Budget's negative gearing and CGT changes are being blamed for the property slowdown. Plus: why is the US seeing a productivity boom while Australia's economy grows only because more people are moving here? If you've been wondering why your portfolio's international holdings are running rings around your Australian ones, this one's for you.
