He is known as one of the parents of New York's legendary JOY party at Decatur Audio Laboratory. Takaya’s musical style doesn' t neatly fit into one genre. He plays with with all kinds of music - house, disco, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, dub, techno, ambient, electronica, rock, african, and latin music are among his favorites. His style is free, flexible, and original, but most of all fun. A&R rep for Soundmen on Wax Records and worldwide rep for Alpha Recording Systems, Takaya currently works as Grammy award winner Louie Vega's exclusive sound technician.
