Jackies Music House Session #248 - "Richie Dio" Richie Dio: Music has always been a passion for Richie Dio since the age of six, when he began his musical instrument training in piano, drums and percussion. Since then, his music performance has taken many forms over the years, from jazz groups, rock bands and orchestras to DJ’ing and music production. Since his first big DJ gigs at NYC’s Tunnel and Limelight the 90s, Richie Dio has played at many mega-clubs and supported such acts as Todd Terry, Chus & Ceballos, Joeski, Oscar G, Harry Romero, Saliva Commandos, Jonathan Peters and others. His movement into music production was a natural outgrowth of his many years of musical training and DJ’ing, inspired further by his cousin, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and former American Idol Judge. The music comprising Richie Dio’s productions incorporate driving drums and percussion, immersive melodies, chord progressions and arpeggios, and various vocal elements. Across several record labels, he has released multiple singles, EPs and remixes within the genres of House, Afro House, Tech House and Melodic House, with tracks on labels including Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, Jackies Music, Sektor Rekords, Homewerx Music, Mavek Recordings and R-Trybe, a label formed by internationally-renown producers Huxley, Ramin Rezaie and Bakkis. Richie Dio’s energetic vibe, infectious beats, immersive sounds and wide-range versatility have electrified dancefloors both locally and internationally and have inspired and garnered the growing attention of audiences and fellow artists.
