Jake Dillon-Jake Of All Tradez
from A Little Off Track
Jake Dillon was so good at the drums, it didn't matter that he was only 17 playing Thursday Night Jazz in the bars in the early 90's with the Knox College combo, it was right where he was suppose to be. If you've been to a Rootabaga Jazz festival in the last few decades, Jake was probably there with the alumni band. Then again in the early to mid 2000's you might have seen him fronting a metal project and went wait, what can't this guy do? Jake shares his many early influences with us too. Dad's finger tapping on everything was one, the jazz greats he discovered was another and Knoxville Jazz/Orchestra director Bob Olmsted, gave Jake invaluable advice & direction, and of course the Knox legend who gave Jake some of his first opportunities, Scott Garlock.Jake's current musical output is quite impressive and he shared plenty of it with us on this episode, including an ear-worm theme song for our podcast that Jake wrote hours before showing up. It's fantastic and now our official theme song. But most impressive are the self produced tracks Jake brought with him.
