    Jake Dillon-Jake Of All Tradez

Jake Dillon was so good at the drums, it didn't matter that he was only 17 playing Thursday Night Jazz in the bars in the early 90's with the Knox College combo, it was right where he was suppose to be. If you've been to a Rootabaga Jazz festival in the last few decades, Jake was probably there with the alumni band. Then again in the early to mid 2000's you might have seen him fronting a metal project and went wait, what can't this guy do? Jake shares his many early influences with us too. Dad's finger tapping on everything was one, the jazz greats he discovered was another and Knoxville Jazz/Orchestra director Bob Olmsted, gave Jake invaluable advice & direction, and of course the Knox legend who gave Jake some of his first opportunities, Scott Garlock.Jake's current musical output is quite impressive and he shared plenty of it with us on this episode, including an ear-worm theme song for our podcast that Jake wrote hours before showing up. It's fantastic and now our official theme song. But most impressive are the self produced tracks Jake brought with him. Find all the songs at these times..32:11 Two Pump Chump40:10 Men In Red Bleed1:08:40 IDFWPWFWPIDFW1:28:21 Neighborhood LegendJake is currently on the lookout for musicians for current & upcoming projects, so drop him a message if you're serious. We truly hope you enjoy going A Little Off Track with the super-duper talented, Jake Dillon.CHECK OUT JAKE AT ALL OF THESE SPOTS...https://www.facebook.com/jakeofalltradez22https://open.spotify.com/artist/4Npxiprt2Ys8vd9Doafhprhttps://music.apple.com/us/artist/jake-of-all-tradez/1734906884

Josh Dixon - A Mechanical Pencil

Artist Josh Dixon joins us for episode 18. Josh doesn't contribute his talent to a 4 year degree, but to the mentors he paid close attention to over the years. And people who just gave him a chance. He probably did the artwork for your band's CD, he might have been the drummer for your hardcore band and he's the happiest human in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre t-shirt that I've ever seen. He has work peppered all over the community and he creates and thrives in the Drag Racing industry but knows absolutely ZILTCH about cars. Here is our multifaceted friend Josh Dixon & the music of his band, SoColossal.https://www.facebook.com/quartermax1https://www.facebook.com/socolossal

    Travis Stoneking-Laryngitis

Travis Stoneking originates from Knoxville, Illinois, the home of heavy rock. Actually it's the home of the Blue Bullets, but growing up, inside Travis's house, Mom was rocking AC/DC & he still has Grandma's copy of Second Helping from Skynyrd. When the females in your life rock, you're going places. Not only has Travis & his bands of the last 30 years left their mark on the region, it's currently happening again with Indian Burn. You'll get a taste of their upcoming album as we feature 3 tracks during the podcast.A family man, a Slayer fan, & he's celebrating 20 years at a job he loves, and never forgetting how to rock, cause I promise you Indian Burn will shake your soul.We intended releasing this episode today 2/21 in conjunction with a live show planned for tonight celebrating the band and Travis' birthday. Well, enjoy the pod cause old Laryngitis stole Travis voice & so it wasn't to be. Don't worry, a rescheduled date is on the way. Please enjoy some time with our friend, Travis Stoneking.

Pam Gaither ~ Those Are Real Scissors

Pam Gaither is not only Executive Director of the Galesburg Area Chamber Of Commerce, she's our friend. You might actually know Pam, even if you don't because of all the many hundreds of presentations she makes throughout our community, to celebrate business openings, anniversaries and their many successes. But we were lucky enough to get her to come high above Cherry Street to our little studios to learn a little more about her and how exactly the Chamber of Commerce helps so many businesses in the area.Pam makes mom, dad & Avon, Illinois proud. Thanks for spending some time with us going A Little Off Track.NOTES: If you love our voice actress/announcer, friend & former co-host of this podcast, Mandy...check her stuff out here.https://www.trulymadlymandy.com/

Steve Davis: The Search Is Over (The first time I heard a Hammond Organ)

Episode 15 welcomes photographer & musician, Steve Davis. We love our Maquon, Illinois natives, but Steve has called Galesburg home for many a decade. A St. Louis Cardinals fan whose favorite stadium is Wrigley Field. He probably helped service your Apple & snapped a photo of your kid in the parade then pulled on his headband, got behind the keys and along with his musical pals, made your Friday & Saturday nights epic. He's truly been involved in huge musical movements in Galesburg over the past 4 decades either directly or indirectly. Dark Crystal, Thrillsville, & Neon Nova to name a few. And who could forget Linen Lion? From days on the couch soaking up the hair metal/new wave musical prowess from MTV or discovering synth sounds at Gamble Music to sneaking a really big camera into Farm-Aid '85, the stories of rock n roll & photographs are endless. We are so blessed to be able to see & hear the art of Steve Davis.CHECK STEVE OUT HERE...https://www.facebook.com/NEONNOVABANDhttps://www.facebook.com/JammSammichhttps://www.facebook.com/Thrillsville

Terry Hodges: Without Flames, It's Lame

They say never meet your heroes but when Terry Hodges asked his to throw him a drum stick as he waited patiently at the edge of the stage during Quiet Riot's set, it happened. Frankie Banali gave Terry a drum stick and was forever solidified the drumming hero in Terry's life. Starting with 5 gallon buckets in the barn to stuffing his kit in the Trans Am and 30 plus years later in one of the area's most dynamic bands, Neon Nova. And for some reason this drummer showed up with a Bullethead, cigar box guitar. At 33:32 in the podcast, Terry shows why he brought it. It's been quite an adventure so far for Terry, from stealing pizza from Firehouse, chicken alfredo with Lita Ford, meeting smelly Tommy Lee or playing live at the Mark Of The Quad Cities with his one time juggernaut band, Drophammer. The adventure continues. Thanks for listening to episode 14 with our friend, Terry Hodges.CHECK OUT TERRY'S BAND DATES AND MORE...https://www.facebook.com/NEONNOVABAND

Chris Carr: His Tongue Really Is 8 Feet Long

This is the episode that almost wasn't. We invited singer songwriter Chris Carr to the podcast before but for whatever reason it didn't work out. So he finally comes to record our first episode in 13 months & it's riddled with crazy out of our control tech issues, & we almost scrapped it. Thanks to the magic of our studio proprietor, we got most of the episode back & we hope you love it in all it's messy glory. Thanks Billy.Chris Carr has been making music for over 30 years now, The 90's was Pods Pinion, garnering a trip to NYC based on a demo. Crash & The Witness & Ghost Town Choir were amazing projects born in the 21 st century & now along with the uber talented Eric Christian & Adam Stuart a new project called, Statues Of Ash. Skip to 45:38 to hear the single, Wait Your Turn & 58:48 to hear the single King Wins Again. Listen and then raise hell for this Maple City trio to play live.We get two songs in their infancy performed live in this episode from Chris. I'd like to apologize again to Chris for talking over the end of that song, the caffeine ran strong through this episode. Chris wrote one song on a napkin on the ride over. We salvaged the good parts from an episode that died twice. Ted, Billy & I are happy to welcome one of my favorite people on the planet, Chris Carr for episode 13.credits:all music by Chris Carr & Statues Of Ashalso featuring the music of Ghost Town Choir & Crash & The WitnessFIND MORE ON THE BAND...https://music.apple.com/us/artist/statues-of-ash/1762132662https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDEZzwJJQf9-MfChj8HNSsQ

Sullivan's Daughter: Holiday Tunes & Honey Lips

Erin Glasnovich performs under the name Sullivan’s Daughter, a nod to her mother maiden name & her middle name. On the stage since 7, performing is what Erin was born to do. Erin recently came to a life fork in the road, stopped, looked around and ran right back into the arts, using her greatest instrument, her voice. She sang her 1st single Honey Lips for us and gave us a little holiday gift too. Now, we hope you enjoy Erin’s voice too on episode 12 of A Little Off Track.FIND ALL THINGS SULLIVAN'S DAUGHTER HERE..https://www.facebook.com/sullivansdaughterhttps://www.tiktok.com/@sullivansdaughterhttps://sullivansdaughter.bandcamp.com/ And if you have an idea for an artist you'd like to hear more from, or anything else you wanna chat about, hit us up at [email protected]

Brad Shryack: Hey Dad, You Suck!

Episode 11 brings us musician and music teacher, Brad Shryack. Brad used to call the local rock station and request guitar god rock instrumentals that rarely got played, like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani. This only proved he had great taste in music and it turns out he was a pretty talented six string shredder himself.  Brad's been in bands, played big stages and practices like a mad man - which he passes on to young and old musicians learning guitar, as a teacher at the legendary Music Makers in Galesburg. We are proud to have Brad strum those strings on episode 11 of… A Little Off Track.FIND BRAD'S FIRST ALBUM IN OVER 35 YEARS AT THESE SPOTShttps://music.apple.com/us/album/brad-shryack/1691331323https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mAiV5l7SYJaP7Oftq6uobkM7AOuU6R84ghttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0rq5O6IsGKMre2uwf7i8GK

And if your ears stick around until the end, you'll hear her sing too.My friend, we hope you enjoy the lovely Lily Blouin on episode 9 of A Little Off Track.

Tim Holmes: You Should've Married A Plumber

Tim Holmes finally came all the way down to the A Little Off Track studios to talk like a snobby actor and deflect our questions like a spoiled director, exactly what we were hoping. Anything performed from a stage without a net, ensemble or solo, drama, comedy or musical is so damned impressive and inspiring to those who don't do it everyday or ever! We love to be entertained and Tim knows a show or two about a show or two. It's 92 minutes of special friendships and folly, with one of the greatest to ever do it.******paid slogan by Mr Holmesplaceshttps://www.facebook.com/PAAGalesburghttps://www.facebook.com/GalesburgOrpheum

Seth Cocquit: Eye Drops & Saints

Seth’s upbringing becomes pretty clear when you hear his music.  Whether it’s grandpa, his favorite girl or the famous bridge he grew up next to, his lyrics hit close to home right away. He’s a father, a fiddle player, an educator and an occasional online better, and part of a few great musical projects in the area, Frank F. Sidney's Western Bandit Volunteers & Harvest Sons. And an occasional appearance in the Rhinestoners.
