He attended the Air Force Academy and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry. During his active duty career he attended the University of Colorado and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology. After completing his military service he attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Science. He then went on to Neurosurgery residency and fellowship training, and now practices in Texas. Dr. Figueroa continues to be passionate about all aspects of brain and spine wellness, not just surgical neurologic diseases. The development of TriNeuro, TriNeuro Advanced, and TriNeuro Spine were inspired by real life patients who were interested in improving the overall health of their brain and spine.
