Jay Westbrook - Applying the 12 Traditions in Romantic Relationships - Meeting 106

from RECO12 · host Justin B / Jay Westbrook

Guest Intro and Bio in Jay’s own words:I walked into the rooms on December 2, 1988, a "functional alcoholic," but at an absolute bottom spiritually, emotionally, and behaviorally. At that first meeting, I felt the breath of God (Grace) blowing on me with a gentleness I did not deserve and had not earned, and have been clean & sober ever since. I'm a clinical hospice nurse, Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist, national speaker, and author of Compassionate Journeys: Lessons From My Work With the Dying. A second book, on Applying the 12 Traditions to Relationships will be out in Spring of 2022.Welcome to Reco12.  Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths ,and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  Speakers from our past meetings have represented many fellowships and identify with addictions with such variety of alcoholism, drugs, food, sex, gambling, theft, co-dependency, and the anon groups.  We invite recovering addicts with at least 1 year sobriety and who are actively working their recovery in their respective fellowships to share their experience, strength and hope on a live Zoom webinar, each Friday at 12:00 pm central time, for 20-25 minutes.  Then, we, the live audience, get the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker for another 20-25 minutes.  Reco12 is a self-supporting service and we appreciate your help in keeping it that way.  We gratefully accept contributions to help cover the costs of the Zoom platform, podcast platform, web hosting, and administrative costs.  To contribute, you can go to https://www.reco12.com/support  or you can click the link to PayPal (https://www.paypal.me/reco12)  in the chat of the live meeting.  When you contribute, please specify the meeting number.  This is meeting number 106.Resources from this meeting:Alcoholics AnonymousBig Book of AACompassionate Journeys:  Lessons from My Work with the DyingJay is also writing another book that hopefully will be out in the fall of 2022 called "Applying the 12 Traditions to Relationships"  Outro music is “Standing Still” by Cory Ellsworth and Randy Kartchner, performed by Mike Eldred and Elizabeth Wolfe.  This song, and/or the entire soundtrack for the future Broadway musical, “Crosses:  A Musical of Hope”, can be purchased here:  https://amzn.to/3RIjKXs   This song is used with the  permission of Cory Ellsworth.Information on Noodle It Out with Nikki M Big Book Roundtable Informational Seeking and educating on how to donate to Reco12.Support the showPrivate Facebook GroupInstagram PageBecome a Reco12 Spearhead (Monthly Supporter)PatreonPayPalVenmo: @Reco-TwelveYouTube ChannelReco12 WebsiteEmail:  [email protected] to join WhatsApp GroupReco12 Shares PodcastReco12 Shares Record a Share LinkReco12 Noodle It Out with Nikki M PodcastReco12 Big Book Roundtable Podcast
