Marty E from Anchorage, Alaska came to the SA fellowship in 2008 at the age of 37.  Having fought and lost since 12 years old, he never knew there was an answer to his problem until a friend told him there was a recovery program for lust. He initially came in, attended meetings, didn’t get a sponsor, didn’t work the steps, and to his surprise he didn’t get sober.  When he finally got a sponsor, worked the steps and followed his suggestions, Marty had a spiritual awakening. It is THE result of working the steps. He loves talking with newcomers, giving away his literature and working with his sponsees. Cameron F has been a member of Cocaine Anonymous since November 21, 2003. As a Big Book Sponsor, he has worked with all kinds of addicts from around the world. He facilitates a Twelve Steps in four hours workshop and has carried the Twelve Step message of recovery to well over 16,000 suffering addicts over the past 22 years. Debi's 1st meeting was in 1981. Her 1st sober date was in 1987. Her current and (TY God) permanent sober date is 1/31/94. Debi had a long history of trouble at home, school, and the law, from a very young age, including rehab, detox, jail, DUI, psych ward, diagnoses, medication, etc. None of those things made her willing to do anything. She tried many other methods in and out of the rooms of AA. She was dry 3.5 years for the 2nd time and ready to suicide when she reached out for help with more humility and desperation than she'd ever before been able to muster and allowed a recovered member and experienced sponsor take her through the Big Book & the Steps. Debi finally had the vital spiritual experience the book talks about. She made ALL of her 9th step amends in a meaningful way and now lives in Steps 10-12, falling more and more deeply in love with Alcoholics Anonymous. Harvey is 71 years old, married to his wife, Sharon, for over 47 years. Five married children and 20 grandchildren. He has been in SA since January 7th, 2014, and gratefully sober since that day Which, by the way 12 years a couple of days ago. Ashlee C. walked into her first 12-step room for food addiction recovery on February 9, 2016, not knowing that God would use this program to teach her the difference between surrendering in defeat and abandoning herself fully to Him. In her first year of abstinence, she lost 125 lbs and reached an ideal size — but after a relapse, her stretches of abstinence grew shorter and her relapses grew longer. On July 22, 2024, she finally abandoned sugar and flour as forms of ease and comfort, marking a major turning point. On May 1, 2025, she turned more of her will over to the care of God, and on May 31, 2025, she set aside her thinking about God, herself, and others and went through the steps again with the purpose of carrying the message to another suffering addict. Jonny Q has been in the rooms for 10 years. He is a single dad who raised a son single-handedly for the last 8 years. Jonny stopped using cocaine and alcohol in 2015 but picked up an amphetamine-based pre workout between years 6 and 7. He had a continuous sex and love addiction until a few months ago.
