Theory-wise, this was an attempt to use the notes of a whole-tone scale as the roots for a chord sequence. (Except in the middle I couldn't resist reverting to a more typical-for-me chord sequence. Oh well.) Sample-wise, I tried to use the guitar samples from Moby's (now known as "El Mobo" to distinguish him from the more well-known popular musician) famous elekfunk.mod, but create something that sounded different. Sadly, I kinda failed on the different part. (Years later, I was able to get in touch with Moby, confess that I'd ripped his samples, and send him a copy of my song. He never did write me back after receiving the copy, so I guess he wasn't very impressed.) This was another track that originally started at what is now the 0:30 mark but felt like it needed something more. So I tacked on the completely-unrelated beginning part. Then I decided to name the title (well, the "Sunrise" part) after that section because it, uh, sort of sounded like one (yes, those are supposed to be insect noises). In retrospect, this was all a mistake, that opening is terrible, and I shouldn't have added it. Oh well. I do like the key change that happens around 3:32.
