Discussion between the Jean Monnet Chair Prof. Ramūnas Vilpišauskas, Dr. Magnus Schoeller and students of the IIRPS VU Master’s degree programme in European Studies on the role of small states in EU and eurozone. The discussion was focused on the strategies that small states can use to pursue their interests via-à-vis Germany or the Franco-German tandem. Emphasis was also placed on the conditions under which small states can upload their preferences to EU policymaking rather than being only decision-takers, their role, and what makes their efforts to advance their interests more effective.
