“Jesus Prepares the Disciples” — A Sermon on Acts 1:1–11

For forty days Jesus teaches about the kingdom of God, anchors their hope in His resurrection, and commands them to wait for the promised Holy Spirit.With their questions swirling—“Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”—Jesus redirects their focus: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses…to the end of the earth.” Then, before their eyes, He ascends into heaven.
