Jesus, the Promised Fulfillment Matthew 5:13-20 When Jesus began His ministry, it was so foreign, some thought He was trying to start a new religion and do away with the Mosaic Law and the Prophets, the basis for the OT Jewish system of worship. In the Sermon on the Mount, in Matthew 5:13-20, Jesus explained that He wasn’t trying to abolish the OT. Instead, He was the fulfillment of it.
