Jesus will get us to heaven

In John 14:6 Jesus says this: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It’s one thing if Jesus says that about Himself, but has anyone else—especially someone in authority—ever testified to how special Christ is? If so, whom? And what happens when we believe what Jesus says about Himself? Are the benefits of believing just in the future? (1 John 5:1-12)
