जीवनदर्शनम्

सर्वे अपि अपत्यस्य जन्मदिनं निमित्तीकृत्य किमपि उपायनं यच्छन्ति । तत् सर्वं लौकिकम् उपयानं भवति प्रायशः । अस्यां कथायां पुत्र्याः जन्मदिननिमित्तं पिता तिस्रः पेटिकाः ददाति । किं भवितुम् अर्हति तासु पेटिकासु ? कीदृशानि उपायनानि ? लौकिकानि वा तत्त्वबोधकानि वा ? आगच्छन्तु कथां शृण्मः ।  वयम् अपि तादृशानि उपायनानि एव बालेभ्यः दातुं प्रयत्नं कुर्मः (“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)Everyone gives certain gifts on a child’s birthday. The gifts are usually worldly. In this story, the father gives three boxes on the occasion of his daughter's birthday. What might be in those boxes? What kind of gifts are these?
