Three Prayer Themes: Trust • Hope • Steadiness Scripture — John 14:1 (NIV) Perhaps the evening has arrived and you are looking back over the day. Some things may have gone well, but other things may have disappointed you. Perhaps something happened that you did not expect, or you are carrying a concern that has followed you all day. So pause with Jesus. He knows what it is to stand in the middle of troubled circumstances. His words are simple: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” Lord Jesus, we bring You the things that have unsettled us today. We bring You disappointment, unanswered questions and situations we cannot change. Keep our hearts from being ruled by what we see. Teach us to trust You when circumstances do not make sense. We pray for Uganda, Canada and Brazil. Strengthen those facing setbacks, uncertainty and difficult circumstances. We remember Hungary, Romania and Russia. Bring comfort to families and communities, and restore hope where disappointment has taken hold. Holy Spirit, keep our hearts turned toward Jesus. When our minds return to what went wrong, gently lead us back to trust. Señor Jesús, confiamos en Ti. Senhor Jesus, confiamos em Ti. Panginoong Jesus, nagtitiwala kami sa Iyo. Lord, this morning we looked to You. We listened for Your voice. At midday we learned to remain in You. Now, as evening comes, teach us to trust You with what we cannot understand. We do not have to carry the whole day into the night. Jesus is still Lord, still present, and still worthy of our trust. Amen.
