Before this day quietly slips into the night, let’s pause together, open God’s Word and receive the lasting peace that Jesus lovingly offers to every trusting heart. There are evenings when the world still feels noisy, even after everything around us has grown quiet. Thoughts continue to turn, questions remain unanswered and tomorrow can seem to arrive before today has fully ended. Yet in the middle of all these things, Jesus speaks words that still calm anxious hearts. He offers us His peace—not a temporary feeling, but a lasting gift rooted in His unchanging presence. John 14:27 (NIV) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” What a beautiful promise for this evening. The peace of Christ is not dependent upon perfect circumstances. It flows from knowing that the Saviour who holds tomorrow also holds us securely tonight. As we entrust every unfinished thought, every unanswered question and every hope for tomorrow into His hands, our hearts become settled in His faithful care. So tonight, let’s gently remind ourselves that fear will not win, because Jesus Christ gives a peace that the world cannot take away. Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son and for the peace that He freely gives. Thank You that Your love remains constant through every changing circumstance. Lord Jesus, bless every listener tonight. Bring healing to those who are unwell, comfort to those who feel alone, reassurance to those carrying tomorrow’s concerns and deep, refreshing rest to every weary heart. Help us finish this day resting confidently in Your peace. Holy Spirit, quiet every anxious thought, surround us with Your gentle presence and prepare us to greet tomorrow with renewed faith and joyful expectation. Across the world, from Hobart to Hamilton, from Singapore to Nashville and Buenos Aires, may every listener rest tonight beneath the peace of Christ, knowing that His faithful love will never leave them.
