from The Kathryn Zox Show · host Kathryn Zox

Kathryn interviews Author John Schimm.Generation Z live in the tug-of-war between unprecedented courage and openness unlike the world has ever seen versus the shadows of unyielding stress, pressures, and judgment. They exist and persevere amidst a battle of public personas and private truths while being objectified as stereotypes and commodities. International award-winning author John Schimm shares 52 impactful insights, revelations, and pleasant surprises that Gen-Z has told him they want the world to know about them. His goal is to help all those who live and work with Gen-Zers to develop a better understanding of these young people, and to forge healthier and more productive relationships with them. He is the creator of such public art projects as The Gen-Z Time Capsule in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Museum. He has appeared on such national media outlets as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hallmark Channel's Home & Family, Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, NPR, and more.Kathryn also interviews Author Dave Sikorjak.Sports fans may save the world—or at least improve political discourse. Research shows that identity politics can lead to division, but that sports fans are actually able to bridge gaps in otherwise polarized groups and are far less likely to dehumanize other people who believe differently than they do. Dave Sikorjak and co-Author Ben Valenta combine unprecedented research and data to show that sports fans have higher rates and levels of social capital and connectivity than non-sports fans, and that extends to those with political differences. In a Pew survey conducted for the book, they found that identifying as a sports fan softened the often hardened boundaries between us and them, making more space for we. He has been featured in The Atlantic and he was previously an executive at Publicis, NBC, and Madison Square Garden.
