Caleb represents for us a believer who followed the Lord with his whole heart. He was promised an allotment of land by Moses. He now comes to Joshua to ask for the promised land. He get it because God honors His promises. What is actually promised to the believer? 1. Christ's presence with us through all circumstances. 2. Trials and tribulations. 3. Heaven, eternal life. The Christian believer is to radically and faithfully follow Christ and rejoice in ever circumstance because He in control and all things are working together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (Rom 8). We are to be anxious for nothing but in all things with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving we are to make our requests known to Him and the PEACE OF GOD which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:4-7).
