Jonathan Sothcott: UK Film Producer Talks Movies, Actors, Satorial Style and Working With Steven Seagal

I’m speaking with one of the busiest men in the British film industry, producer Jonathan Sothcott. I first got to know Joanathan over 20 years ago when bonded over our mutual love of Transformers and Steven Seagal movies. Back then Jonathan was into film journalism and he worked extensively on a number of DVD releases interviewing iconic actors and recording audio commentaries. Over the years Jonathan has produced a huge catalogue of movies of his own, including Vendetta, Nemesis, Age of Kill, The Fall of the Essex Boys and the hugely popular We Still Steal the Old Way and We Still Kill the Old Way. Jonathan has worked with a wealth of British acting talent, such as Danny Dyer, Craig Fairbrass, Martin Kemp, Billy Murray, Julian Glover, Nick Moran, Ian Ogilvy and Patsy Kensit. Jonathan’s latest movie, Renegades, stars film legends Lee Majors and Danny Trejo. In this interview Jonathan talks openly about his own film catalogue, his influences, what it was like working through lockdown with Steven Seagal and about his good friend, Christopher Ellison, who it was recently announced has been diagnosed with aphasia.
