We all have influence regardless of age or occupation. The question is not do we impact others, but how? Throughout our Influencers series, we will examine the faith of four young people who had an enormous effect on the society and culture of their time. And, we will consider how we can make a difference in our own spheres of influence. This week we will explore Joseph's impact on others. Joseph overcame enormous obstacles and setbacks in order to fulfill his God-given potential. We can too, but it will require patience, integrity, faithfulness, forgiveness and trust wherever life takes us.

Sherman's March To The Sea, And The Burning Of Columbia, South Carolina, From His Memoirs by William Tecumseh Sherman Loyal Books This librivox recording comprises part of chapter 22 and all of chapter 23 (The March To The Sea – From Atlanta To Savannah – November And December 1864) of American Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman’s Memoirs. Sherman was one of the premier generals fighting for the North. In 1864, Sherman succeeded Grant as the Union commander in the western theater of the war. He proceeded to lead his troops to the capture of the city of Atlanta, a military success that contributed to the re-election of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. Sherman's subsequent march through Georgia and the Carolinas further undermined the Confederacy's ability to continue fighting. He accepted the surrender of all the Confederate armies in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida in April 1865. Sherman’s scorched earth policy marching his army through Georgia from conquered Atlanta to coastal Savannah was a strong factor in breaking the South’s will to fight. The South’s surrender came just five months later. They live among us here in America. They also dwell in the countries far away across the wide ocean. Why are they so scattered, you may ask. Is there no country which is really theirs, and which is ruled over by some one they have chosen? Is there not some place where they can gather together happily whenever they please? The answer is always no.They cannot say of this land or of that, "It is ours," for they are homeless. Palestine, which was once theirs, is now in the hands of the Turks. Jerusalem, the city they love best in the whole world, is in the power of those who look with scorn upon the Jewish people. For many centuries they have been scattered far and wide. Their children learn to speak the language of the country where they happen to be born. They play the games and dress in the fashion of that country. What is it that keeps them Jews? It
