from The Triathlon Show · host The Triathlon Show

This week, we talked with Coach JT Rodgers from Wave1 Performance, focusing on the progress of young athletes participating in collegiate triathlons. As a coach, JT Rodgers aims to foster the overall development of athletes on and off the field within Wave1 Performance. Motivated by his research on the mental health of high-performance student-athletes during his thesis work, he sought a coaching approach that wouldn't compromise athletes' mental well-being post-retirement. He combines Nervous System Coaching with established Triathlon Coaching principles by employing a holistic strategy that prioritizes the athlete. Drawing from his extensive background as a former Professional Triathlete, JT brings over 12 years of experience in high-performance coaching. His coaching journey includes contributions to elite programs like the Irvine Novaquatics Swim Team, Queens University of Charlotte Triathlon Team (2x NCAA and 1x Collegiate Club Combine National Title), UCI Triathlon Team, Formula Endurance Youth/Junior Elite Team.
