After Moses and Joshua, Israel entered a dark age of repeated apostasy and repentance. This was because they disobeyed God's command and spared the Canaanites. They feared chariots rather than God, and did not drive out the Canaanites. This unbelief became an ingrained habit, taking root in the lives of believers and festering into persistent unbelief. Consequently, a dark age like the time of the Judges arrived. We too are called to sever ties with bad habits and live lives that obey God. May today also be a day of prayer to the Lord...
