【Judges 12:6】
from 小羊の里キリスト教会 Hosted by 森田義夫
「then they would say to him, "Then say, 'Shibboleth'!" And he would say, "Sibboleth," for he could not pronounce it right. Then they would take him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan. There fell at that time forty-two thousand Ephraimites.」 Amen. There are people who never lift a finger themselves, yet find fault with everything. Here, it refers to the Ephraimites. They complained to the judge Jephthah and challenged him to battle. In the end, the Ephraimites were defeated. When the remnants crossed the Jordan River, there was a checkpoint. The Ephraimites were captured when they couldn't correctly pronounce “Shibboleth.” Life and death were decided by the difference in pronouncing a single syllable: “shi” versus “si.” May we walk the path of faith in the Lord today as well.. God bless you. See you tomorrow.
