Juliet Hall
from The Kathryn Zox Show · host Kathryn Zox
Kathryn interviews Author Juliet Hall.Juliet Hall made a career-defining decision to leave a company after being told her desired career path would not happen. She now recounts her job experiences spanning twenty years—building a narrative to show how she evolved, discovered her gifts, and succeeded in a career amidst a backdrop of corporate trauma before making the pivot to realize her dream. No matter the opposition—whether it's family and tradition, systemic bias and marginalization, or difficult leadership—there is always a path forward. She refused to be put into a box and allow others to define success for her. She is the principal of Juliet Hall INC, a boutique leadership consulting agency based in Atlanta and has been recognized by several organizations in Atlanta as a "Top Black Woman of Influence."Kathryn also interviews Author Laura K. Connell.Growing up in a dysfunctional family conditioned Laura K. Connell to find more dysfunction in adulthood, perpetuating a cycle of self-sabotage that wouldn't be broken until her marriage ended and she was forced to face her alcohol addiction head-on. She spent 12 years studying the dynamics of dysfunctional families and learned that her habits of self-sabotage were her inner child's way of keeping her safe — a misguided form of self-protection. She now helps readers uncover the subconscious reasons they hold themselves back and guides them toward a deeper understanding of the ways in which their negative childhood experiences have impacted their lives. Connell is a trauma-informed author and coach who has had her guest articles featured in the anthology Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Globe and The Toronto Star.
