Dr. Peter MoonWe are finishing our sermon series at the beginning. Psalm 1 introduces the entire Psalter with a call to choose the way of discipleship. Instead of being chaff that the wind blows away, or the sinners, the mockers, or the sitters who do nothing, we are to be trees planted by the water as we meditate on the word of God. We pray that we can do that and thereby matter in this world and beyond. Not only that, we look to the concluding words of Jesus to us as he invites us to direct others to this same lifestyle of discipleship.
