July 19 | Trusting the Shepherd

Today’s reading from Psalms 23–25 and Acts 21:18–40 invites us to consider what it means to live under the faithful care and direction of God. Both passages reveal that spiritual formation takes place over time as we learn to trust God’s presence, follow His leading, and remain steady when the path becomes difficult.In Psalms 23–25, David returns again and again to the rhythm of dependence, guidance, confession, and trust. Psalm 23 presents the LORD as the Shepherd who provides, leads, restores, protects, and remains near, shaping the identity of His people as those who belong to Him and live under His faithful care.In Acts 21, Paul enters Jerusalem knowing that tension and danger may be waiting for him. His response is shaped by an awareness of his calling and a willingness to remain faithful even when his motives are misunderstood and the situation quickly becomes hostile.Together, these passages invite us to reflect on where we are being led, how we respond when the path feels uncertain, and whether we are becoming people who trust the presence of God more deeply over time.
