July 21 | God Is Speaking in Your Storm

Today’s reading from Psalm 29–30 and Acts 23:1–15 invites us to reflect on how we remain attentive to God when life becomes loud, unstable, or threatening. Both passages show people surrounded by forces they cannot control, and they remind us that formation happens over time as we learn to hear God’s voice and remain grounded in His presence.In Psalm 29, the voice of the LORD is heard over the waters, through thunder, lightning, wind, and shaking ground. The repeated name of the LORD becomes a steady rhythm that shapes the identity of God’s people, reminding them that obedience and worship begin with recognizing who still reigns in the middle of the storm.In Acts 23, Paul stands in the middle of conflict, accusation, and a plot against his life. His response reveals a growing awareness of God’s calling and presence, even when the people around him are divided, and the path ahead is uncertain.Together, these passages invite us to reflect on which voice has our attention when life feels unsettled.
