Friends of the Rosary,Today, July 23, we honor—and ask for her prayer and intercession—St. Bridget (1302-1373) of Sweden, the Scandinavian mystic famous for her Revelations concerning the sufferings of our Redeemer.St. Bridget received visions of Christ’s suffering many times throughout her life and, after her husband died and she bore eight children, Bridget founded the Order of the Most Holy Savior, also known as Bridgettines, erecting a double monastery for monks and nuns,Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she later went to Rome, where she worked for the return of the Popes from Avignon.Shortly before she died, the saint went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
