It becomes a large bush,and the ‘birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.’”He spoke to them another parable.“The Kingdom of heaven is like yeastthat a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flouruntil the whole batch was leavened.”The Church, the body of Jesus, the living organism that makes present Christ’s mind and will in the world, is here to transform the world — rather than to make itself accessible to the world, as Bishop Barron explains.“It is the mustard seed, the leaven. In Augustine’s terms, it is the city of God making its way within the city of man.”“It is his love made flesh throughout the ages, his hands and feet and eyes and heart.”—Yesterday, in Matthew 13:44-52, Jesus said to his disciples: “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.
