July Vintage

from Silvio Vinci Hosted by Silvio Vinci

JULY VINTAGE (reworking of Original Instrumental track July Vintage Break , by Silvio Vinci) July was melting on the road, radio low, nowhere to go, dust on the dashboard, sun in our eyes, we were too young to recognize time. Old leather seats and gasoline, everything gold, everything green, you wore a flower inside your hair, summer was endless because you were there. July vintage, faded like an old photograph, July vintage, we thought the moment would always last. The sun went down, the record played, we lost ourselves in the heat of the day. Cold beer sweating on the table, someone was playing through an old cable, a Hammond crying from somewhere inside, while motorcycles rolled through the night. No little screens, no place to hide, just open windows and countryside, we didn’t know what tomorrow could mean— July was somewhere between. And if I close my eyes I can still hear that sound, an old guitar and the evening coming down. July vintage, burning softly in my mind, July vintage, some summers never stay behind. One more sunset, one more song… July is gone— but not completely gone.
