Friends of the Rosary, On June 13, 1917, on the feast day of St. Anthony of Padua, Mary appeared for a second time to the children at Fatima and asked Lucia to learn how to read and write. She told them, "Soon, I will take Jacinta and Francisco, but Lucia is to stay longer." To Lucia, she said, "Don't be discouraged; I will never abandon you.
