Justice for the Vulnerable & The Great Chasm: Deuteronomy 23–25 and Luke 16–17 (Day 105)

How do our actions today echo in eternity? Today in Deuteronomy, we look at laws designed to protect the marginalized: escaped slaves, the poor, the newly married, and the immigrant. These statutes emphasize a "neighbor-first" culture where human dignity outweighs profit. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus pulls back the curtain on the afterlife with the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus—showing that how we treat the "Lazarus" at our own gate has eternal consequences. He then challenges His disciples to live with a faith that serves without seeking applause.Today’s Scripture:📖 Deuteronomy 23–25:19 – A collection of laws regarding the purity of the camp and social compassion. We see protections for the runaway slave, the prohibition of interest on loans to brothers, and the "gleaning laws" that ensure the harvest provides for the poor.
